Adult Formation

At St. Mary's, we offer a variety of opportunities for adults to deepen their faith, engage in meaningful discussions, and connect with others in our community. Whether you're seeking contemplative practices, Bible study, or spiritual retreats, there’s a place for you to grow.

  • Sunday Morning Formation Hour

    Time: 9:15–10:00 AM

    Location: Parish House

    Description: Join us for informal conversations, discussions, and presentations led by the Rector. Once a month, we focus on our Outreach Partner of the month.

  • Be Still – Contemplative Prayer

    Time: Sundays, between services (hybrid: in-person and Zoom)

    Location: Father James Chapel

    Description: A time of silence, reflection, and readings on themes like “Oneness,” “Light,” and “Hope.”

  • Monday Evening Centering Prayer

    Time: Mondays, 5:00–6:00 PM (hybrid: in-person and Zoom)

    Location: Father James Chapel

    Description: A contemplative offering combining centering prayer and lectio divina.

  • Merton Group – Mystics Book Study

    Time: Thursdays, afternoons (Zoom only)

    Description: Explore works by mystics like Meister Eckhart and Richard Rohr. No pre-reading required.

  • Wisdom Seekers – Bible Study

    Time: Tuesdays, 10:30–11:30 AM (hybrid: in-person and Zoom)

    Description: Study the Scripture appointed for the upcoming Sunday.

  • Seasonal Quiet Morning

    Description: An annual retreat focusing on themes like the “Kingdom of Heaven.”

Guiding RAY

Religious Adventures for Youth

Guiding RAY is our children’s Christian Formation program for Pre-K through 5th grade. Through fun, interactive workshops, children learn Bible stories, build friendships, and grow in their understanding of God’s love.

Program Highlights

  • Nursery Care

    Our youngest parishioners (infants and toddlers up to 3 years) are cared for in a safe and loving environment every Sunday from 9:00–11:30 AM. The Nursery is located in the lower level of the Parish House and is staffed by experienced caregivers.

  • Family Chapel

    A 10-minute gathering at 10:00 AM with special guests. Parents are welcome!

  • Bible Story Workshops

    From 10:15–10:45 AM, children engage in creative activities like arts & crafts, cooking, drama, and storytelling.

  • Communion

    At 10:50 AM, children join their families in the Sanctuary to receive Communion or a blessing.

Volunteer Opportunities

We welcome parents and parishioners to share their talents as workshop leaders, assistants, or event helpers. No prior experience is needed! Contact Meg Hurdman, Family Minister.
