Welcome Back, Reverend Jane Milliken Hague!
By The Rev. Jane Milliken Hague
I am thrilled to be returning to Saint Mary’s. Even though I was with you as Temporary Priest in Charge for only 10 months in 2022, during that time I fell in love with both Maine and a Mainer. While I was serving at All Saints Princeton, we decided to return to Falmouth as our forever home. We are recently married and settling into our cozy home.
The role of Interim Priest in Charge means that I will help Saint Mary’s navigate a time of transition between Fr. Nathan’s departure and welcoming your new rector. Saint Mary’s is a healthy parish, and I do not foresee any turbulent waters ahead.
You will hear the word ‘discernment’ a lot in the next year. It is a church word for a season of prayer and guidance from God.
As an experienced and trained interim, I will help guide Saint Mary’s through an exciting time of self-study as you dream of what is next. As a pastor and priest, I will accompany you through the seasons and celebrations of the many gifts that God has given. As a friend and fellow traveler on this journey, we will do this together with God’s grace.
Please continue to pray for your wonderful wardens, Steve Conley and Tom LaPlante and your hard-working Vestry.
My wife, Arlene, and I look forward to reconnecting with old friends and meeting new ones. May God bless us and our work during this year,
