None of us started 2024 thinking we’d be saying goodbye to Father Nathan and Erin and beginning a search for a new rector. We all know change is constant. As your wardens, we know that Saint Mary’s is a vibrant parish. Each of you adds value to our community and for that we are grateful. We also appreciate the expressions of support over the last few months.

Walk in Love is the theme for our annual pledge campaign, but it’s also a depiction of our lives in this community. It’s a comforting passage from Ephesians 5:2. During the liturgy these familiar words lead us from the reading of scripture to the Eucharist. "And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us. Live a life filled with love.” When we walk in love, we do so with clarity and purpose, and we do it in communion with one another.

With intention, we are following the example of Christ. The image of walking in love is a powerful one and an apt description and prescription for the year to come at Saint Mary’s.
