Youth Service Corps Returns: Serving Near and Far

By The Rev. Matthew Simpson

This year’s Youth Service Corps is starting with Creation Care in September. The first Service Corps Sunday will be on September 22nd from 1pm-4pm. The afternoon will begin with lunch together, and then there will be a tour of the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland Facility from 2pm-3:30pm. From their website:

“The Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland nurtures the connection between people and pets to advance animal welfare and improve the quality of life in our community. The ARLGP provides temporary care and shelter for stray, abandoned, confiscated and relinquished animals, and places as many pets as possible into responsible and caring homes; we create awareness and support for the humane treatment of all animals; we strive to end animal overpopulation through education and the promotion of spaying and neutering; we make end-of-life decisions based on safety and animal welfare considerations.”

If you are interested in attending, please contact Deacon Matthew at [email protected].
